ADI

ADI has a pilot underway with Ter Laak in the world’s most innovative Phalaenopsis Orchid greenhouse

Greenhouses have proven to be a sustainable way of nurturing plants as they can provide an ideal growing environment, consuming far less water and producing much higher yields than traditional farming methods.

This is also the case for the Phalaenopsis Orchid. Ter Laak Orchids, a company that specialises in cultivating these plants, is now working under a six-month contract with ADI. The focus is to provide technology that monitors conditions which are fundamental for the cultivation the crop.

ADI’s technology aims at efficiently tracking the onset of potential diseases as well as predicting the best moment to rotate the plant from the hot department to the cold one, which is crucial to the orchids’ development. Without the provided solution, this process becomes time-consuming and inaccurate, resulting in wasted productivity for both the grower and greenhouse.

The aim of the collaboration is the mutual gain of practical knowledge by linking ADI’s data analytics with Ter Laak Orchids’ internal database.

This possibility has made orchid growers from the company more than eager to benefit from ADI’s “eye-in-the-sky” technology.
